Escorial is the King Philip II (1556-1598) country residence. The Palace was built as "the palace for God and the residence for the king". The main object is to demonstrate the power of Spanish monarchy and the Spanish weapon. The Palace is a kind of reminder about San Quintin victory against France in 1557.
During the excursion you will see royal family private rooms, royal pantheon, monastery halls and the richest collection of the Spanish, Flemish and Italian painting, library, Saint Lavrenti's basilica with Benvenuto Cellini and Leona Leonie sculptural masterpieces.
